VOF Logo Memo
August 7, 2008 The Virginia Outdoors Foundation has a new official logo, designed by Flourish Creative Design and Illustration of Richmond, Virginia. After decades of using an image of a farmstead, the Foundation has updated its logo for use in new media, while keeping some of the elements of the original image. This change follows a major redesign and expansion of the Foundation’s website, www.vofonline.org, completed in 2007. The new logo features an oak tree and dogwood silhouette in the foreground, with plowed fields, grasses and a body of water in the mid-ground, and rolling mountains in the distance. According to designer Laura Marr, “This logo depicts a vista of water, land, trees and agriculture, some of the entities that VOF works to protect.” Ms. Marr also created the Virginia Forever logo, and has worked with other state agencies and environmental organizations.
