Support VOF

The Virginia Outdoors Foundation (VOF) has always been generously supported by private donors in addition to receiving money from the Commonwealth of Virginia. Most of our state-supported funds have come from a one-dollar recordation fee on deeds of transfer in all localities where VOF holds an easement. All contributions to the Virginia Outdoors Foundation are tax-deductible for both federal and state income tax purposes.

Volunteer Opportunities

The Virginia Outdoors Foundation (VOF) was created by the Virginia General Assembly in 1966 as a public foundation dedicated to conservation of the natural and cultural heritage land resources of Virginia. Because of Virginia's strong reliance on voluntary land conservation and our state's generous land preservation tax credit, easement demand can exceed VOF's available human resources. Volunteers can help! Citizen education and stewardship program support are two areas where volunteers can make value added contributions. If you would like to be part of the public trust associated with Virginia's 'uncommon wealth' call 804-371-2151 to inquire about VOF volunteer opportunities.
